Island Installations
Wind & Sun have completed several island electrification projects. We were involved initially with studies into the existing systems, in proposing improvements and then in the design & specification of the battery-inverter and renewable systems adopted.
We also supervised and undertook the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of the batteries, inverters, wind & solar systems and monitoring integrating these within the overall electricity schemes.
The team from Wind & Sun now maintain a continuing involvement through remote monitoring and providing service, training and support to the island operational personnel as well as system upgrades when required, providing on-going support to the islanders, monitoring performance and adjusting critical operating parameters remotely if required.
The systems are operated by local residents and community enterprises have been established to own and operate the equipment. Electricity is provided to residents after which profits from the power generated is used to cover operation and maintenance costs, and reduce bills for local homes and businesses.
